ABC Orders ‘Conviction’ and 4 Other Series

Agent Carter may be gone, but Hayley Atwell is staying at ABC.

The network has ordered the actress’ drama pilot Conviction. According to The Hollywood Reporter ABC has ordered several other series.

Conviction centers on the daughter of a former president Carter Morrison (Atwell) who is backmailed into working for the Conviction Integrity Unit in Los Angeles. Alongside her team, Carter will examine cases where the wrong person is thought to have been convicted. Shawn Ashmore, Eddie Cahill, Daniel DiTomasso, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney and Manny Montana also star.

Time After Time, based on the novel of the same name, follows famous writer H.G. Wells as he arrives in present day Manhattan to pursue serial killer Jack the Ripper. Arriving in this strange time and place, Wells is captivated by a young woman he meets and his new surroundings. Freddie Stroma will play Wells while Joshua Bowman is set to play Jack The Ripper. Venessa Anders, Genesis Rodriguez, Jordin Sparks, Regina Taylor also star.

ABC also ordered a pair of comedies. Downward Dog centers on Allison Tolman’s Nan and her dog, watch the first look below, while the Untitled Sarah Dunn series follows Katie (Katy Mixon) as she tries to rise her family in a town where everyone’s lives seems perfect.

Also TVLine reports ABC is adding another Shondaland drama. The network has ordered Still Star Crossed. Based on the novel by Melinda Taub, the series tells the story of what happened after Romeo and Juliet died. Their families lived on to kill, scheme, lie and love. The cast includes Anthony Head, Wade Briggs, Grant Bowler, Lashana Lynch and Zuleikha Robinson.
