‘Batman Unlimited: Mechs vs. Mutants’ Review

The Batman Unlimited series continues with Batman Unlimited: Mechs vs. Mutants!

The third in the series, follows Batman, Robin, and a few friends as they try to take down some of the most notorious Gotham villains after Penguin attempts to take over Gotham City, with the help of Mr. Freeze and a few of their former Arkham cell mates. The plan just so happened to include taking villains like Killer Croc, Bane, and Clayface and making them a much bigger problem for Batman and company.

Of course, the mutant villains soon come face-to-face with supersized heroes thanks to help from Dr. Langstrom’s tech, much to the Penguin’s dismay. The team also gets some help from an unexpected, villainous source and the reason for the assistance was interesting.

The movie brought out the fun, snarky side of some of our favorite DC superheroes including The Flash, the Green Arrow, and Nightwing. I liked seeing Robin adjusting to his role on the team and how he soon finds how he can contribute.

The mech suits felt reminiscent of something but spent most of the fight scenes trying to figure out what it is.

The heroic voice cast features Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Chris Diamantopoulos as Green Arrow, Will Friedle as Nightwing, Charlie Schlatter as The Flash, and Lucien Dodge as Robin.

The villainous voices are led by Oded Fehr as Mr. Freeze, Dana Snyder as The Penguin, Carlos Alazraqui as Bane, John DiMaggio as Killer Croc, Dave B. Mitchell as Clayface and Troy Baker as Joker. Phil LaMarr joins the Batman Unlimited series as Dr. Langstrom.

Batman Unlimited: Mechs vs. Mutants is out today! Check it out and let us know what you thought of the movie.
