Chuck vs. The First Fight
Original Air Date: Nov 1, 2010

If you had The Living Daylights scared out of you last week during the Halloween episode, you won’t have to worry much about this week’s show as far as frights go. We do have to worry about Chuck losing the Intersect, Chuck’s mom actually being a baddie and James Bond as Volkoff, Alexi Volkoff.
As you might guess from the title, this week centered on the first big fight between Chuck and Sarah (it sets the tone for all future fights in the relationship). Of course, Chuck and Sarah are at odds over Momma Bartowski. Sarah is sure she’s a rogue agent and Chuck is convinced that his mother is still deep, deep undercover for the good guys.
And Sarah ends up being right, of course. Or is she? Chuck’s mom proves she’s evil by using a weird little PSP looking device she finds in Pop Bartowski’s underground lair to disable or deactivate Chuck’s internal Intersect. Meanwhile, of course, Ellie stumbles on her father’s old car based on some classified ad that’s been running non-stop since his death. Under the seat in the car is some weird looking flux capacitor that, I’m sure, will return Chuck to his butt-kicking self in the coming weeks.
Volkoff and Chuck’s mom blow up the underground Bartowski compound, but not before mom slips a tied up Sarah a razor blade and instructions for Sarah to save her son before the (really crappy and cheap looking) explosion. So is she evil after all? I think that’s still up in the air. What do you think?
Saturday Night Live’s Ana Gasteyer also made a uniquely comical appearance as a crazy Russian Volkoff agent which was apropos of the Women of Saturday Night Live show immediately following this week’s episode.
I’ll work up more of a recap in the next week or so since Chuck is on vacation next week and will return on November 15th. So in the meantime, what do you think is really going on with Chuck’s mom? What’s in the Bartowski car Ellie found? How long will Chuck be Intersect-less? Please leave all your comments in the comments section below and stay tuned to thetwocents.com for all your television news and notes. I’m off to cancel a red state vote.
