CMT has announced that Nashville will be returning for its second season on the network and a sixth season overall that will be 16 episodes long.
According to the network, “over the course of the first-half of the season, the series notched nearly 16 million total viewers on CMT alone, and nearly 23 million on CMT and Nick at Nite.”
Nashville will return June 1 at 9 p.m. and will pick up 10 weeks after the midseason finale, with new additions Rachel Bilson and Kaitlin Doubleday as well as Jeff Nordling. The latter will be recurring in the role of Brad Maitlind, owner of the most successful label in Nashville.
