Coming back from TV death.
We have the show The Flash to thank for a new chapter/reboot of the series Prison Break. Really.
Prison Break ran for four seasons from 2005-2009, but has been dormant now for seven years. Let me say that again – seven years! That was, until stars Dominic Purcell (Lincoln) and Wentworth Miller (Michael) spent time together on the set of The Flash. There they devised a way to bring the series back in a limited nine-show format – even though the previous series ended with the death of Michael.
“We went to the producers, and once they heard our idea, they said yes,” recalled Miller.
Clips shown to the Comic-Con audience showed Michael in a foreign prison somewhere, perhaps the Middle East. He’s started a plan to escape (of course), and this time Lincoln helps him. The shows title sort of defines the format, said Robert Knepper, who returns as T-Bag.
“We’re giving the audience what they had before, but this time it’s deeper and more layered,” promised producer Michael Horowitz. “The show is about family and how you’d do anything to save someone you love.”
All over again.
