HBO announced today that they have renewed Last Week Tonight for another two 35-episode seasons. The satirical news show began its second season February 8 and will have season three air sometime in 2016 and season four air in 2017.
“We are incredibly proud to have John as part of the HBO family,” said HBO President of Programming, Michael Lombardo in the statement. “His unique ability to deliver socially significant commentary week after week, along with his innate comedic brilliance, puts John in a class by himself.”
Oliver, who became a household name during his tenure at The Daily Show, did not hold back in his first season of Last Week Tonight, as he covered everything from Net Neutrality (check out the take down here) to FIFA (which can be seen here).
