The new(ish) fad of ‘binge watching’ a show online or on DVD/BluRay is one I love. And NBC’s Revolution is a great candidate for that.

I watched the first four or five episodes live, but felt I was letting myself down every time the episode ended. I wanted to watch them in succession.

Luckily, Revolution season one is now out on disc!

Official Release: “Fans are “powering up” to own one of the most-watched new shows of the 2012-2013 season as Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) gets set to release Revolution: The Complete First Season on DVD and Blu-rayTM Combo Pack September 3, 2013. With its first season, Revolution broke out as a hit amongst critics and fans, landing a top spot as TV’s #1 new show with Women 18–34 and Men 18-49 and averaging 12.6 MM viewers per week! Revolution: The Complete First Season includes all 20 action-packed episodes from Season 1 and is available to own for $59.98/$69.97 SRP. The release includes over 90 min. of bonus content including two featurettes, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and bonus webisodes. The Blu-rayTM Combo Pack contains an additional 30 minutes of bonus features and includes the Blu-ray™ and standard DVD editions of the release, plus an UltraVioletTM digital copy of all 20 episodes.”

As usual, I’m a huge fan of ‘extras’ in a series like this and this pack is jam-packed with them!

DVD & Blu-ray Special Features

  • An In-depth Look at the ‘Revolution’ Pilot – Featurette
  • Creating a Revolution – Featurette
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Webisodes
  • Gag Reel

Blu-ray™ Exclusive Special Features

  • Revolution Cast & Creative Team at the 2013 Paley Festival
  • UltraVioletTM digital copy of all 20 episodes

When the show’s pilot was released last summer, my big response was for the beauty of the show. It was cinematic in its ‘look’. On BluRay that really comes through. It’s a beautiful show to watch.

The set is available for purchase now online and in many retailers – check it out!
