Still Star-Crossed has returned and began its final run in the Saturday night spot, picking up right where it left off: Benvolio and Rosaline searching for leads on who attacked the ceremony, Lord Capulet dealing with the haunting visions, and Escalus working through the fallout of the attack.

Things get more complicated though, as the masked and hooded man that terrorized the ceremony strikes again, framing Benvolio, leading to some big decisions being made and a surprising development.

Here are top moments from this week’s episode.

Escalus is dealing with the fallout of the attack and tries to pacify the situation by reaching out to the new ambassador. Of course, things aren’t as simple as the new ambassador, who seems to have had a past with Escalus gets gross about Isabella. Escalus doesn’t want to hear it and immediately takes a stand, punching the ambassador.

Lord Montague has an unexpected appearance in his sister, Tessa. Tessa’s arrival brings a new tension into House Montague as the pair have different ideas about how to essentially maintain the family’s status in Verona. Things take a turn though when Benvolio is accused of murdering Gamio Capulet as the pair see their nephew as a liability to the family and take it upon themselves to attempt to bring him in themselves to spare the family any more disgrace, cementing the pair’s designation as being the worst. However, they’re not the only ones…

Lady Capulet discovers that Juliet consumed poison and her agenda is not only set on revenge but is quickly being narrowed down to bringing Rosaline down. Her goals are made even clearer the moment she has that conversation with Paris, who turns out to be the man in the hood that not only attacked Rosaline and Benvolio’s ceremony but killed Gramio Capulet to frame Benvolio. Yeah, just when you thought that Paris was one of the good ones. How long before Livia finds out that it was a setup courtesy of her terrible aunt?

Rosaline ending up at her childhood home and Benvolio following her led to some more insight into how her parents passed away. It was a tense and emotional moment but allowed Benvolio to see more of what the Montagues have brought upon the Capulets through the years. This tense moment gives way to a great final scene between the pair that may signal the beginning of a change in their dynamic.

With Benvolio on the run, his family not an option for help, and Stella having betrayed him, he turns to Rosaline and makes a plea for help. It’s a heartfelt moment as he tells her that she may not like him and he may not have helped the situation along but she is a good person and they can help each other. She agrees to come along, and so the pair set out in the middle of the night, unknowingly causing more problems courtesy of Rosaline’s terrible aunt.

And, that’s it for this episode! What did you think of the episode? Is the final moment of the episode a sign that Benvolio and Rosaline are getting closer? Anyone else wonder what Escalus was thinking when he talked to Rosaline that way?
