It’s that time of year again! Hiatus is winding down and fall premiere dates are drawing near. So, what better way to count down the final weeks until premieres than to discuss our hopes for the upcoming season? Elementary will be heading into its fifth season with a big milestone episode coming up and some new faces making appearances.
Here are some of my wishes about what I would like to see this season.
Moar Moreland Holmes. I’ll be honest- I’m not the biggest fan of the tension that apparently has to exist whenever Sherlock and his father are within eyesight of each other. I am, however, very much a fan of John Noble. And anyway, considering where we left things last season, this is a given.
More of Joan for Joan’s sake. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer both Sherlock and Joan together than apart, but modern adaptations are making Watson just as important as Holmes, and I love that this show does so, too. I want too see more of Joan’s past- maybe her father? And I’d like to see her take the lead in more cases.
Better ratings. Simple and sweet. This show’s renewal is never guaranteed, and I’d like to see it stable enough that it can end when it’s time, however long that may be, and not because it was cancelled early.
Elementary premieres Sunday, October 2 at 10 p.m. on CBS
